Are you looking to bring the shine back to your typewriter? A clean machine is a happy machine! Most problems with typewriters can be solved with a detailed cleaning of the exterior and interior mechanisms, offered by our experienced typewriter technician. Each Typewriter Cleaning includes the following: - A cleaning of the exterior shell, keys, typewriter case, and accessible features. - A cleaning of the interior mechanisms of dust and grime. - A lubrication of moving parts and mechanisms. - A final polish to make your machine shine. - A fresh ribbon with free installation. Notes: - Typewriters must be delivered to 270 Sherman Avenue (Mill 320), Hamilton, ON via Appointment. - An in-person examination will provide you with an estimated completion date, with the average duration being 5 business days. - A non-refundable deposit of 50% will be taken at the time of drop-off. This deposit is not an extra fee; it is applied directly toward the final cost of your repair or restoration. - If your typewriter malfunction is caused by sticky keys, please select this option instead of Typewriter Repair. - This is not considered a Deep Clean, which could involve a longer wait time and dismantling of interior mechanisms. For a Deep Clean, please contact <info@hamiltontypewriterco.ca> for a quote. - Certain discolourations of the exterior shell and case may be due to damage over time. These will be pointed out and noted in the cleaning process. For repainting or colour renewal please contact <info@hamiltontypewriterco.ca> for a quote. - This service is for manual typewriters only. Cancellation Policy
Please read this policy through as it contains important information about our services. DEPOSIT At Hamilton Typewriter Company, we take pride in restoring and maintaining the integrity of your vintage machines. To ensure we can provide the highest quality service and to manage our workshop efficiently, we require a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. This deposit is not an extra fee; it is applied directly toward the final cost of your repair or restoration. LIABILITY Due to the nature of vintage typewriter repair we are unable to be held liable for any damage that may occur to the machine. We are experienced professionals who take great care when handling your typewriters, however it would be impossible to verify the integrity of certain parts due to age or any previous damage that may have occurred to the machine prior to beginning work. When dropping off your typewriter, your technician will review the state of the machine and record both your reported issues and any obvious signs of damage or malfunction. MISSING PARTS Missing parts or damaged machines delivered at drop off will be assessed to see if replacements can be found. If necessary a quote for an optional, additional fee will be sent for your approval before work continues. ONE LAST WORD Typewriter repair is by nature methodical. It may take time to safely review and repair your machine. Please understand it is our goal to deliver you a fully functional machine as speedily as possible, and to have patience.
